 A clearance rate of 70 per cent was recorded this weekend compared to 73 per cent last weekend and 59 per cent this time last year.

The release of the REIV's June quarter median prices should help encourage a few more sellers into the market over spring as it shows the price falls recorded in 2011 have been recovered. Further increases in stock on the market will be welcomed by buyers.

There were 426 auctions reported to the REIV this weekend, with 299 selling and 127 being passed in, 65 of those on a vendor bid.

Next weekend the REIV expects around 580 auctions.
