for Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th May 2014
A clearance rate of 72 per cent was recorded this weekend compared to 68 per cent last weekend.
There were 863 auctions reported to the REIV this weekend, with 623 selling and 240 being passed in, 137 of those on a vendor bid.
After today’s results, more than 9,000 homes have been sold at auction so far this year compared to about 7,000 this time last year. Over the final weekends in May, the REIV is expecting more than 2,500 auctions, which is the first time more than 2,000 auctions have been held over this period. The 10-year average for this period prior to the Queen’s Birthday weekend is about 1,500 auctions.
