A clearance rate of 81 per cent was recorded this weekend compared to 76 per cent last weekend and 76 per cent this weekend last year. There were 480 auctions reported to the REIV, with 387 selling and 93 being passed in, 43 of those on a vendor bid. Auctions are on the rise, with the first major auction weekend since June due in a fortnight – when more than 900 homes are set to go under the hammer, on 27/28 August.
