Melbourne Property Sales Results
for Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July 2014
A clearance rate of 74 per cent was recorded this weekend compared to 71 per cent last weekend and 73 per cent this weekend last year.
There were 388 auctions reported to the REIV this weekend, with 288 selling and 100 being passed in, 37 of those on a vendor bid.
Aside from the clearance rate, the strength of demand from buyers can also be gauged from the share of homes sold before auction. In the year to date, about 14 per cent of homes scheduled for auction have been sold before, which is the highest level since 2010. In some suburbs, such as Wantirna, nearly half of all homes scheduled for auction were sold beforehand.
