Melbourne Property Sales Results

for Saturday 5th April 2014

A clearance rate of 70 per cent was recorded this weekend compared to 69 per cent last weekend and 63 per cent this weekend last year.

There were 841 auctions reported to the REIV today, with 592 selling and 249 being passed in, 128 of those on a vendor bid.

So far this year, there have been about 17,500 auction and private sales in Victoria. This is about three per cent higher than this time last year and is driven mainly by a significant increase in the number of auctions. More than 5,000 homes have been sold at auction so far this year compared to nearly 4,000 this time last year.

Next weekend the REIV expects about 1,500 auctions.
